Punk rock legend Lou Koller ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at 59 after two-year cancer battle

Punk rock legend Lou Koller has pᴀssed away at the age of 59 after a battle with cancer.
The late singer was known for being the frontman of the band Sick Of It All, which was formed back in 1986 in New York City.
His death was confirmed by the late singer’s bandmates who shared an emotional statement to Instagram on Friday.
‘It’s with unbelievable sadness that we announce to our worldwide hardcore family the pᴀssing of our brother Lou Koller,’ they penned. ‘The level of loss that we feel at this time is overwhelming.’
Koller’s pᴀssing took place shortly before the band celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.
‘And Lou’s camaraderie, commitment and enthusiasm were always steadfast throughout the years.’

His death was confirmed by the late singer’s bandmates who shared an emotional statement to Instagram on Friday
‘We have lost a beloved friend and an iconic frontman,’ the statement continued.
‘Lou had the power to raise everyone’s spirits at our shows with a smile and a sarcastic comment, and he won people over wherever we played, from every culture and every corner of the world.’
His bandmates added, ‘At this time of intense grief, we must again acknowledge the great help and support offered by everyone who donated to Lou’s medical fund.
‘You all helped Lou feel very special and very loved as he battled away these last two years.’
Koller’s ‘battle is over now and he can finally rest. Hopefully he can somehow still see and feel the beautiful, positive mark he left on the world.’
Back in June 2024, the music artist revealed that doctors had found a tumor in his esophagus and was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer.
Koller had shared a video to the group’s Instagram page at the time, explaining that doctors ‘found a tumor in my esophagus that goes into my stomach.
‘And I’ll have to be getting treatment all summer – and of course, with full support of the band.’
